Ostrander

How wonderful is this family? I came in with a few ideas for their maternity shoot but there was the most prolific berry bush on the way to their house, so change in plans! I enjoyed my time with them so much I did not want to leave. This shoot was taken two days before the newest member of the Ostrander group arrived.

Lucy Newborn portraits

My poor little friend Lucy. We finally got her newborn portraits done. I love the holiday theme and we even got her big sister Riley in for some serious sloppy kisses.

Triplets Pregnancy Portraits

Gwen is amazing not to mention gorgeous. Maternity sessions are my favorite but this pregnancy portrait required a bit more planning then normal. Gwen is carrying triplets and movement is limited. I am honored that she not only chose me but that the maternity portraits are so important to her. I can not wait until Feb. when I can do my first triplet newborn portrait session!

Baby Gus' First Baby Portrait

For anyone who has been on my website you must have seen Smitha. She is absolutely gorgeous and her maternity portrait session was breathtaking. It was not surprise that her son is beyond darling. Such bright eyes and those cheeks!

On a Personal Note

Here are my darling little beasties playing around the Academy of Sciences. We had a fantastic time and the albino alligator made for an incredible subject. I must say I was very happy there was so much space between the two of us=0)

Newborn Baby Boy Portrait Shoot

For any of you who follow Bay Area Parent magazine Svetlana was the cover model for the baby issue. We had a blast shooting it and I was very excited to go and meet her and Igor's baby boy. I love maternity sessions especially since pregnancy portraits lead to newborn pictures!

Newborn Portrait Miss Mia

I am always amazed at how quickly time goes by between maternity portraits and the first baby pictures. It seems like now time has past since I last saw Caroline and did a belly wrap for her pregnancy portraits. Yesterday I got to go to their home to take Mia's newborn portraits. How lucky I was seeing such a gorgeous little girl with the most amazing eyes! Her baby portraits are daring but since I know her brothers I didn't expect anything less.

Oakland Family Photographer (Miss Brooklyn)

I have to say I always look forward to my time with Miss Brooklyn (her parents are pretty cool too). Look at these bright sparkly eyes and her fantastic punk rock hair. I Love photographing babies especially babies with so many expressions!
We photographed at Piedmont Park in Oakland.

Rose Family Portraits

Tiffany Rose  her four children and very kind husband drove all the way out to Sunol for family portraits. It was amazing to be a part of watching four very strong personalities come together fight, laugh, and smile.
Tiffany and her husband like a VERY photojournalist prospective to their family portraits. Very little posing involved. The most I did was suggesting a tree or a rock climb and at the end everyone jumped in an antique wagon.
Spending time with Tiffany and her family is always a pleasure and I love stretching out and just capturing what happens.

On a Personal Note

These first photos gives you an internal glance into my world. These little darlings with their pitiful little faces pressed to the glass are not orphans or in need of charity, these are my little imps. Yes, those sorrowful faces are strictly from mommy closing the door to commit the highest of atrocities, work with the door closed. Working moms everywhere know these expressions.
Next time I redo the house perhaps doors that aren't see through.

Miss Tamsin Family Holiday Photos

Tamsin and Hazel's (Hazel being the more slobbery and fuzzy of these two) mom and dad were kind enough to drive all the way down from the Sierra's for their family portraits. I feel very lucky to get the chance to photograph this wonderful and gorgeous family (must be in the DNA Jenny is after all related). Family portraits are always wonderful this time of year especially when considering taking portraits for Holiday cards.
Tamsin and Hazel had a wonderful time during their portrait session. I feel so lucky to have been able to combine three of my favorite session all in one (family portrait session, adorable baby portrait session, and family portrait session).
We photographed in Garin Park using available light. Tamsin had a wonderful time exploring all sorts of new experiences including blowing on wishing flowers.

Lucy Irvine

Baby Lucy. I told her parents that she will grow up to take footballs away from small boys. She is darling enough to get away with it. When I showed up little Miss was curled up in her sling fast asleep it was a perfect moment. I just posed Katie next to a lamp in the house and had her lift the sling down. Gorgeous. Our next project might take some more work but it will be so worth it!

Turnridge Family Portraits

Todays photo shoot started with a moment of magic. I swear I am not being corny. We decided to shoot at Ardenwood park and as is my habit i arrived early to check the light. I was one of the only people there and I stood on a path when I realized I had a visiter. A gray fox came wandering up. It was only a few feet away and in what could only be described as a dismissal the fox turned and meandered away. I took this as a good sign and was absolutely correct, the session was magical. The two boys are beyond adorable. We caught some great moments on the train, a windmill, a magic gate, tree climbing, blacksmith watching, peacock chasing, and of course leaf tossing all in about an hour. Beth I hope they sleep well tonight.
