On a Personal Note

These first photos gives you an internal glance into my world. These little darlings with their pitiful little faces pressed to the glass are not orphans or in need of charity, these are my little imps. Yes, those sorrowful faces are strictly from mommy closing the door to commit the highest of atrocities, work with the door closed. Working moms everywhere know these expressions.
Next time I redo the house perhaps doors that aren't see through.

Miss Tamsin Family Holiday Photos

Tamsin and Hazel's (Hazel being the more slobbery and fuzzy of these two) mom and dad were kind enough to drive all the way down from the Sierra's for their family portraits. I feel very lucky to get the chance to photograph this wonderful and gorgeous family (must be in the DNA Jenny is after all related). Family portraits are always wonderful this time of year especially when considering taking portraits for Holiday cards.
Tamsin and Hazel had a wonderful time during their portrait session. I feel so lucky to have been able to combine three of my favorite session all in one (family portrait session, adorable baby portrait session, and family portrait session).
We photographed in Garin Park using available light. Tamsin had a wonderful time exploring all sorts of new experiences including blowing on wishing flowers.

Lucy Irvine

Baby Lucy. I told her parents that she will grow up to take footballs away from small boys. She is darling enough to get away with it. When I showed up little Miss was curled up in her sling fast asleep it was a perfect moment. I just posed Katie next to a lamp in the house and had her lift the sling down. Gorgeous. Our next project might take some more work but it will be so worth it!

Turnridge Family Portraits

Todays photo shoot started with a moment of magic. I swear I am not being corny. We decided to shoot at Ardenwood park and as is my habit i arrived early to check the light. I was one of the only people there and I stood on a path when I realized I had a visiter. A gray fox came wandering up. It was only a few feet away and in what could only be described as a dismissal the fox turned and meandered away. I took this as a good sign and was absolutely correct, the session was magical. The two boys are beyond adorable. We caught some great moments on the train, a windmill, a magic gate, tree climbing, blacksmith watching, peacock chasing, and of course leaf tossing all in about an hour. Beth I hope they sleep well tonight.

Bay Area Author Portraits

I was so happy to hear from my friend and professor (back when I could string more
then two coherent sentences together) Steve Gutierrez
It has been a few years since I had seen Steve and his family
(his wife Jackie Doyle was always one of my favorite professors as well). The last photo shoot I
had done for them was just before their son left for college.
As always when I hear from them it is good news. Steve has just gotten his book published
and need a book jacket portrait.
We shot natural light at Lake Chabot (always nice to go visit the East Bay). I can't wait to read his new book.

Caroline and Jim

I make no secret about it I love shooting at the Palace of Fine Arts. I know it is in the middle of a major facelift but it still has some of the best shooting spots. The place still has surprises for me. I must have shot here dozens of time including the beach across the street but this last photo shoot I found some brand new nooks and crannies. What a wonderful family to explore those with! Jim and Caroline have two gorgeous children. I knew they were after my heart when Gabrielle (age 3) came up to me in a white dress and mud streaked knees. Perfection! Very little is cuter then a three year old in a white dress with mud on her knees. Casey was an amazingly adept tree climber and us adults hummed "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" as we wandered over to the beach. Talk about an ideal start to the day. Right after I had to run over and photograph a very cool car but that blog entry will wait for later.

Tim Ferris Brian Lam and Tesla

When Adryenn Ashley for Wow is Me  calls and asks me what I am doing I have a few things I check, passport, camera bag, and sense of adventure. This time I did not have to go any further then Menlo Park to the Tesla showroom. Brian Lam and Tim Ferris  were test driving the new Tesla. Gorgeous car. So much fun I got to play paparazzi. Adryenn and I tried to keep up in a Lexus, hardly fair. The photos are fantastic and I hear the guys are getting tons of hits on their blogs. Another fantastic day at work. Family portraits in the morning and photo shoot of a Tesla, Time Ferris, and Brian Lam, seriously my job rocks.

Placerville AKA most darling toddler

Ok I am biased on the toddler. I admit it but oh my goodness she is darling. My dearest friend Katherine was kind enough to put up with me for a weekend and took me up to apple hill. This is something I look forward to all year. Crisp air, tire swings, petting zoos with goats (Mz O is convinced they are dogs), and yes the most important of things caramel apples. Heaven.

Leigh

Leigh is absolutely gorgeous, amazing, and brave. She was inspiring to talk to. It was easy to make her smile. Once she started talking about her future plans her eyes sparkled. We photographed around her most comfortable spots. She was completely at home in her environment. A past model she made my job too easy.
